Choice and consequence
There’s plenty of evidence
That blind ignorance
And having no sense
Are two very different things

Flight or fight
Decide tonight,
Check your foresight
Because you might
Not get another chance with the kings

This fork in the road has become your knife in my back
Trying to change every twist and turn down the route
Filling every pot hole, sealing every crack
Yet your journey isn’t flawless either, proven by your doubt

Expand and learn
Or crash and burn,
Forever to yearn
It’s partially your concern
As well, for no one is blameless

Check your signs
Make sure everything’s fine
Life’s not a line
It has curves, and can confine
So please clean up your own mess

Down the twisting path
It’s important to hope
To have faith, and to look foreword
It’s what makes us human

It’s when you fail, that receives wrath
It’s the lack of ability to cope
That causes this, so I’ve heard
When our footprints are eroded form our own sand.

Originally titled: Road work, approach with empathy

I seem to be incapable of writing poetry that is generally happy. But not to worry - I'm working on it
Perhaps I should stop listening to songs about suicide and betrayal...maybe that will help XD. Not my fault my music taste is depressing.

Anyway, this poem is be about a fork in the road of life. a conflictive choice has arisen where neither path is without flaws. Kinda. Its the emotion of confliction in poetry form basically.

*the italicsed line is a song title from the band Atreyu. I love that title so I decided to throw it in there.

**Happy poetry to return soon (I hope)
:fingerscrossed:

Don't you know, in the end, we'll be tragically torn apart?
:icona-freakin-rpg-gamer:
well yea, but every now and then I'd like to emminate something other than paranoia/angst/confliction :hmm:

 you don't have to focus on those things for something to be depressing

yeah, but I was looking through my gallery and thats what like 90% of them are about :/

The other 10% being philosophy/ petty romance

I want that to become more of 50-50 split. It's not working well :|

 well if you want more ways to do things look at some of what i've wrote
especially some of my newer stuff, which are great examples of things that don't seem so depressing but really are when you look at it and understand it

not the worst of ideas, but I really want to write something that isn't even remotely depressing.
